Famous celebrity, pop-idol Madonna Louise Veronica Ciccone was born in Bay City, Michigan, on August 16, 1958 to Silvio and Madonna Ciccone. When Madonna was 5, her mother died of cancer. Madonna reasonably found her mother’s death and the whole change difficult, particularly her father’s remarriage, and credits these experiences with her wish to stand out and move forward herself to achieve. Madonna was raised Roman Catholic, and was constantly occupied in school musicals and choirs in high school, but took an exceptional interest in dance. She started ballet education at 12. Madonna came to New York with little to no amount of money in the summer of 1978, and took up house in a grimy apartment in Manhattan. She worked as a waitress and a body model for artists. After that Madonna started dancing in modern-dance troupes, and never actually focused on singing until she went to musical auditions as a dancer and was asked to sing as well. Several years later, she signed a contract with Sire records, and released her first album, “Madonna,” in 1983. Her debut album went platinum in a year. Madonna was a fashion innovator: her dark gloves, black clothes, jean jackets and skirts, teased hair with rags, fishnets, strange belts, bracelets and high heels became a fad among youngsters in the 1980s. Her fashion was imitated by a lot of girls and women. Religious and soccer-mom organizations constantly keep criticizing Madonna’s manners in music videos and on-stage performances, but this only fuels her fame. She continues to shock audiences with her extravagant manners, like kissing with younger singer Britney Spears at MTV Awards. Madonna is at present involved in film-making industry.
