Aishwarya used to date Bollywood actors Salman Khan and Vivek Oberoi. Now she is married to Indian actor Abhishek Bachchan. Their engagement was announced on January 14, 2007 after much rumors concerning the relationships. Later the announcement was confirmed by Amitabh Bachchan. Rai and Bachchan got married on April 20, 2007 following traditional Hindu rites of the South Indian Bunt community, to which the actress belongs. Also there were performed Token North Indian and Bengali ceremonies. The wedding was celebrated at the Bachchan residence Prateeksha in Juhu, Mumbai. Though the wedding was private intended for the Bachchan and Rai family and friends the media turned it into a national travaganza.
