Aishwarya Rai was born on November, 1st, 1973 in Mangalore, Karnataka, India. She was born in the family of a merchant marine fleet officer and a writer. She has an elder brother. The mother tongue of Aishwarya Rai is Tulu, she also speaks Hindi, English, Tamil and Bengali. In childhood she learnt classical music and dancing. After college she entered the university where she studied architecture then she became a model. In 1994 she won the competition “Ms. World”. After that she participated in advertising company of Pepsi and posed for Vogue Magazine.

In 2003 Aishwarya Rai was a member of the Cannes film festival jury. Then Aishwarya signed an advertising contract with L’Oreal and participated in advertising companies of Coca-Cola and DeBeers. Aishwarya Rai is the first Indian woman in Madame Tussaud’s wax museum.
