During 1993 Alanis Morissette had a romance with Dave Coulier of television’s Full House fame. The couple’s work schedules made their relationship strained. Dave Coulier was disappointed by Alanis Morrissette’s short affair with Shawn Pierce, the drummer from Madison WI, band ZEBRAS. In 2002 she dated actor Ryan Reynolds and in June 2004, Alanis Morissette announced their engagement. In June 2006, People magazine reported the couple to have split but neither party confirmed the information. The following month, a source said they were still together. Contact Music reported their split to have been a “rumor” and as a proof to that were pictures of the two holding hands in Los Angeles. In February 2007, representatives for Alanis Morissette and Reynolds publically announced opf the couple’s mutual decision to end their engagement. In her May 2004 interview for the British newspaper The Mirror Alanis discussed her past relationships, having at the age of fourteen dated a twenty-nine year-old man, and told about her experiences with drugs. In the article, she said: “My addictions were work and food. I smoked pot once in a while, but I’m too much of a control freak to be a drug person”.
