Alanis Morissette was born on June, 1st, 1974 in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Her father Alan Morissette, a French-Canadian, working as a school director wished to find for her daughter a female variant of his own name not existing in the nature. Having once seen in Greek newspaper the name Alanis he understood that found what had been searching for. Alanis has two brothers: the elder Chad and her twin-brother Wade who is now an instructor in yoga. At the age of seven Alanis started making music learnt playing the piano, later took lessons of ballet and modern dance. Since nine she composed songs and at ten she passed a casting to children’s teleshow “You Can’t Do That оn Television” and became a constant participant of this teleprogram. At 11 Alanis Morissette debuted as a singer, having recorded on her first earned money her own song “Fate Stay With Me”. She got a nomination of Juno Award, the Canadian analogue of Grammy for her first composition.

During 1993 Alanis Morissette had a romance with Dave Coulier of television’s Full House fame. The couple’s work schedules made their relationship strained. Dave Coulier was disappointed by Alanis Morrissette’s short affair with Shawn Pierce, the drummer from Madison WI, band ZEBRAS. In 2002 she dated actor Ryan Reynolds and in June 2004, Alanis Morissette announced their engagement. In June 2006, People magazine reported the couple to have split but neither party confirmed the information. The following month, a source said they were still together. Contact Music reported their split to have been a “rumor” and as a proof to that were pictures of the two holding hands in Los Angeles. In February 2007, representatives for Alanis Morissette and Reynolds publically announced opf the couple’s mutual decision to end their engagement.

Her full name is Alanis Nadine Morissette and she is a Canadian-American singer, songwriter and partial actress. Alanis was born on June 1 1974 in Canada. In late 90’s her album “Jagged Little Pill” has become an international hit. It is still the best selling debut album by a female artist in the United States and the most selling debut album worldwide for the whole history of music. For her career, Alanis has won 12 June Awards, seven Grammy Awards and she sold over 55 million albums worldwide.

Concerning her personal relationships, it has to be mentioned that Alanis was involved with Ryan Reynolds and Dave Coulier.

Once, in her interview, Alanis Morissette said next about tattoos. “No tattoos. During the last 27 years, there hasn’t been one word or phrase that I felt I would be able to look at every day and think, “I still believe that.” I dig the word faith. But I don’t want a fu..ing tattoo on me that says FAITH.”
