Jordan was born February 17 in 1963 in a simple family in New York. His father was a mechanic and all day he was fixing cars. Little Michael was also with him and he was interested too. However, one day Michael was hit by electricity in his dad’s garage and he jumped up on a few meters. That fact has always been used by the world media and critics as an excuse that Jordan could “fly” that high. He did fly like a ballerina and he could reach anyone on the court. But his ability to do that is a result of a very hard work, that Michael was doing all his life and he is continue to do that even though he has retired. Although Michael Jordan had the most amazing basketball career, not all people know the fact that he was cut out of his high school team. After a tryout for the team, the coach put the list on the wall with the surnames of those that passed, unfortunately for Jordan at that time, he could not find his name on that list. He was upset, frustrated, but just for a while as he start working on himself right on the street, playing hard and practicing hard every day. He grew up a couple of inches and on the next season, the same coach was regret that he did not take him sooner.
Michael always said “I can accept failure, but I cannot accept not trying”. This motivation was leading Jordan to the victory in many competitions. Six times his team Chicago Bulls was champions and six times Jordan was MVP of these winning seasons. He also has a numerous of different titles.
The bookmakers hated him as when Chicago played it was pretty much stupid to bet on the team where there is no Jordan out there.
However, not everything was fine in Jordan’s life. In 1993 his father James Jordan was kidnapped and then killed. This tragedy has shocked the whole world, but especially it shocked Michael. He thought that there is no reason for him to continue to play basketball. He did quit so early at the age of 30. This event has shocked the world even harder. Right after that Michael Jordan was playing baseball in MLB, and he got a record on misses and failures. However, he was back on the track in 1995 and he started to play basketball even better.
Another farewell Jordan did with his fans in 1998 after getting himself and his team sixth NBA champions ring. Everybody thought that this is the end, as Michael was 35 back there. But in 2001, Jordan has returned again, and the crowed was stunning and shocked. He played for a couple of years for Washington Wizards, but without much of the result, although not every good basketball player can play proudly in that age.
His another saying” I have missed more than 9000 shots for my career. I have lost almost 300 games, 26 times I have been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I have failed over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed” is explaining how he reached all that he has now through all the difficulties and obstacles that were on his path. That sort of mentality is still inspiring young people for doing their best and reach the top.
Right now Jordan is retired from his beloved game and he is doing a lot of charity. The world will not ever forget the God of basketball Michael Jordan.
