From 1999 to 2003 Salma Hayek dated actor Edward Norton. In 2003 she had relations with Josh Lucas. She is on friendly terms with Spanish actress Penélope Cruz and co-starred with her in the 2006 film Bandidas. Hayek went to Ramtha’s School of Enlightenment. Her brother, Sami Hayek, is a designer having his own line of products at Target and clients including Louis Vuitton, Brad Pitt, and the Mexican Government. Hayek often uses method acting to play characters. While performing the role of Frida Kahlo, Hayek had to smoke using real cigarettes. As a result as she admits she became a smoker and is now trying to give up the habit. On March 9, 2007, Hayek confirmed her pregnancy from PPR CEO François-Henri Pinault. She gave birth to her daughter Valentina Paloma Pinault on September 21, 2007 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California. On July 18, 2008, Hayek and Pinault announced their relations to be ended. However later the two reconciled and got married on Valentine’s Day, 2009 in Paris. On April 25, 2009, they had a second marriage in Venice.
